Should I Go To a Chiropractor?

A chiropractor offers specific, natural techniques that target affected areas of the body. The solutions we provide at Turquoise Trail Therapeutics can play a significant role in the healing process, as they strengthen the body and generate the symbiotic relationship between muscles, joints, and ligaments. This allows for a fully functioning body which means you can focus on your life, not your pain.

Having worked with numerous athletes of all types, ages, and ability levels, we’ve seen that chiropractic treatments and therapeutic massage before and after an event are incredibly beneficial. Call us to discuss how our sports chiropractic care can help you.

Visiting a chiropractic care team offers various benefits that include:

Using our chiropractic services, we’ll support the natural healing power of the body to restore and regenerate, helping you find your balance.

If you are experiencing discomfort, seeking help before it gets worse is a responsible step. When the body shows pain, it’s telling you that it needs help, and our goal is to find what’s causing the pain and end it there. We understand that masking pain with medication runs the risk of creating more problems, including worsening an existing injury or adding a new one.

We’re ready to improve your body’s function and give you the tools to keep it safe for years to come.

If you’re suffering from any of these symptoms, you should make an appointment to visit our Santa Fe chiropractic professionals:

  • Chronic (ongoing) or significant pain in your back or neck
  • Intense pain in your extremities (legs, arms, hands, ankles)
  • Radiating pain from your lower back into one or both of your legs
  • Weakness, tingling, or numbness throughout your body
  • Redness or swelling in the area that’s in pain

These symptoms may cause serious pain; however, our safe treatments may be all you need to manage them quickly. Don’t let your pain go untreated; we’re here to advise and encourage you as we work with your body to ensure it keeps you safe.

Chiropractic Techniques

We offer an array of chiropractic treatments to ensure that each unique patient gets the best plan for their needs, goals, and abilities. Our team never takes a one-size-fits-all approach to the care plan we design. We use both manual and instrument-assisted techniques that are proven to aid in the healing process, find balance, and restore function.

We always want our patients to feel confident in their wellness journey and will openly discuss our process and methods and how we can best benefit your fast recovery.

Some of the chiropractic services we offer include:

Chiropractic Adjustments or Spinal Manipulations

An adjustment is a safe, non-invasive method that utilizes a swift, controlled manual thrust to a targeted joint. These adjustments decrease pain, rejuvenate and restore motion and function, and improve body balance, often providing immediate relief.

While several areas of the body can be adjusted, spinal adjustments or manipulations are the most common. A compromised spine will affect mobility and the surrounding muscles, ligaments, and other joints. Our adjustments are designed to protect the spine at all times and mobilize the joints so you can live in comfort.

Active Release Techniques

Active Release Technique (ART)

ART is a massage technique that works with the soft tissues and treats issues that arise in the muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia, and nerves. It helps with several injuries and often permanently resolves the condition.

Many of our active patients benefit from ART, helping them recover quickly so they can get back to playing the sports they love, exercising regularly, or living their energetic lifestyle.

ART helps with:

  • Headaches
  • Back pain
  • Carpal tunnel syndrome
  • Shin splints
  • Shoulder pain
  • Sciatica
  • Plantar fasciitis
  • Knee problems
  • Tennis elbow
  • And more
Dry Needling

Integrative Dry Needling

This is the use of a small, solid filament needle that is inserted into a contracted, painful muscle. A twitch response in the needle serves as both a diagnostic and treatment tool. The needle produces a controlled lesion in the muscle, which the body perceives as a threat and responds with an inflammatory response both locally and systemically.

Our dry needling procedure will break your pain cycle, decrease muscle contraction, reduce chemical inflammation, and improve flexibility.

Cupping is a form of decompression therapy using rubber cups. The cups cause suction to lift and separate the superficial fascia, muscle, and skin, which increases circulation and lymph flow to the area.

This therapy can be performed statically or with movement to help glide between fascial layers, resulting in a greater range of motion and decreased tension and pain.

Corrective Exercise

Corrective Exercise

Muscular imbalances can cause significant biomechanical dysfunction in our joints. When prescribed appropriately, exercise can correct these asymmetries and bring our joints back into harmony. Each corrective exercise plan we create is designed with the individual patient in mind.

Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM)

Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM)

IASTM helps manage the formation of adhesions and scar tissue (fibroblasts) after surgery, traumatic injury, or repetitive use. These adhesions occur when inflammation hardens and adheres to the muscle, ligaments, and fascia around it.

Using specially designed stainless steel tools, we will diagnose and treat your adhesions and scar tissue, as well as painful muscles, ligaments, and joints.

RockTape is the Gold Standard in Kinesiology taping. The tape is used to help decrease pain by interrupting the pain impulse to the brain with movement. The tension on the tape helps lift the superficial tissue, allowing for more fluid transfer into and away from the affected area. RockTape is also used as a tactical cue to improve postural and movement patterns.

Therapeutic Massage

Therapeutic Massage

Turquoise Trial Therapeutics massage therapists are elite and skilled in many specialized techniques. We design protocols for injuries, offer integrative therapeutic massage, and perform focused sports massage as well.

Our therapists collaborate with your sports chiropractor daily to ensure that you get the best treatment every time (even if you are not a chiropractic patient). The massage department at Turquoise Trail Therapeutics is not just an add-on to chiropractic but a strong complementary department of professionals dedicated to their craft and clients.

We encourage an active lifestyle, and our athletic patients receive an abundance of resources to contribute to their performance, productivity, and healing. Therapeutic massage is a vital piece of that puzzle, offering necessary release and relaxation.

Specialized 15, 30, or 45 Minute Massage Protocols

These sessions are designed for patients who have one or two conditions or injuries that require skilled and focused work. Often, this is the best plan for repetitive use injuries, athletic trauma, or sporting event recovery.

Specialized massage reduces swelling, promotes circulation, and helps damaged tissue reorganize faster. In addition, our therapists collaborate with your sports chiropractor, adding new skills, including range of motion techniques, trigger-point treatments, and passive mobility techniques, making your session more productive.

Integrative 60 & 90 Minute Massage Protocols

Every massage session is tailored to your needs, so be sure to communicate with your expert Turquoise Trail Therapeutics massage therapist. We incorporate Swedish techniques, trigger point therapy, deep tissue techniques, myofascial techniques, and stretching techniques to help you thrive in your sports, in your life, and with your family.

Dr. Casey (Dr. B.) was able to help my son with a shoulder injury. My son had visited multiple doctors with little to no results. After a few visits with Dr. B. he is back to his old self. He is very knowledgeable and very good at his job. I would recommend him to anyone who is dealing with sports injuries.

Simply Terrific!

I recently had a minor car accident (rear ender) and was concerned that my prior whiplash might flair up. Dr. Casey immediately assessed my sore areas and after just two visits, I was feeling terrific again.

Highly recommend this great doc, and bright convenient office.
